As we learned in our previous blog that depression is an illness that is not considered as real disease in perception of the most of the people around the world. Today we are going to talk about some facts related to depression and break the stereotype.

There is no discrimination in dictionary of depression - Anyone can get depressed

Depression is a feeling of extreme sadness, the reason of sadness can be anything like grief, loosing someone, emptiness, lack of love, dissatisfaction, tormenting memory, regret, estrangle, self-disgust, self-loathing etc.

There is no specific description for the situation and the person is going through it, because it is a feeling that can affect anyone no matter how wealthy he/she, no matter how successful he/she, no matter if the person is he or she.

Depression is also called as new cancer, that develops in your behavior and body but you cannot distinguish it from sadness. In early phase people think that it is common sadness because of any unfortunate thing but eventually it grows inside the person and make things worse from self doubt to self hatred.

Experts believe that in 50% of the cases genes responsible for depression in person, like if a person has family history of depression he/she has two to three times more chances of getting depressed in comparison with other person with no family history. There is no "main reason" of depression, same as the relationship of gene and depression. Depression can be occur in the resultant of mutation in gene but it is not necessary that individual is going to suffer from depression, it depends upon other factors also like trauma, environment etc.

So, if we a person have depression gene we cannot conclude that he/she is going to suffer from that situation.

Exercise is one of the effective way for good mental health, it reduces anxiety, depression and negative mood. In a study conducted by University of Nebraska Medical Center reported that It elevates your self esteem, self acceptance and alleviate social anxiety and low self confidence.
